APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – Appleton’s downtown has a new spot for beer lovers, history buffs, and anyone looking for a unique place to gather.
Vault 202, located at 202 W. College Avenue, celebrated its grand opening Wednesday by inviting the community to experience a brewery built inside the former First National Bank building. The 1962 structure has been transformed into a modern craft beer destination while preserving features like terrazzo floors, marble columns, ceramic wall tiles, and the original bank vault.

The celebration included merchandise giveaways, a signature food menu, and a behind-the-scenes look at the brewing process.
Founded by three friends and neighbors, Vault 202 aims to be more than just a brewery—it hopes to become a community hub. “We wanted a name that was easy to remember and tied to the location,” said investor Cindy Stuedmann. “‘Meet me at the Vault’ just had a ring to it.”
Operations Manager Scott Krebsbach said they want to offer more than great drinks. “Appleton has an amazing brewery scene already,” he said. “We wanted to add to that with something unique where the drinks are delicious, but the vibe and experience really make people want to stay.”

The brewery is open Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. It is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
