MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) – Governor Tony Evers announced on Monday that he signed an Executive Order directing the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) to use all pathways to ensure access to vaccines for residents.
According to the release, Gov. Evers provided the following statement, citing federal actions by President Donald Trump and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the Secretary of the United States Department of Health and Human Services, as the reason for the Executive Order.
The governor’s announcement today comes as the Trump Administration continues its reckless and dangerous efforts to undermine science and the decisions of medical professionals and public health experts, cause panic and confusion across the country, and arbitrarily limit access to safe vaccines, including the COVID-19 vaccine, which was originally authorized and approved “without cutting corners in safety or effectiveness” under the previous Trump Administration.”

Gov. Evers called the federal actions ‘reckless and dangerous’ in the release.
“Vaccines save lives, folks,” Gov. Evers said via the release. “RFK and the Trump Administration are inserting partisan politics into healthcare and the science-based decisions of medical professionals and are putting the health and lives of kids, families and folks across our state at risk in the process.”
Executive Order No. 275 directs the DHS to monitor and review recommendations continuously, issuing guidance on the COVID-19 vaccine and to determine whether any additional measures may be necessary.
