FOND DU LAC COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) – Deputies are seeking information on a vehicle and driver who was reportedly speeding at over 140 mph on I-41 in Fond du Lac County early Thursday morning.
According to the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy patrolling I-41 tried to pull over a vehicle for speeding south of Lost Arrow Road around 12:35 a.m. on September 18. The deputy estimated the high rate of speed to be over 140 mph and couldn’t catch up to the vehicle.

Information was then provided to nearby deputies and agencies. Shortly after, another deputy who was on I-41 northbound near Johnson Street spotted the speeding vehicle, and a pursuit began.
The suspect vehicle once again failed to stop and continued northbound on I-41 at a high rate of speed. Deputies say the vehicle was passing other drivers on the shoulder and hit a construction barrel in the process.
Due to the active construction zone and safety concerns for the workers near Lincoln Road, the pursuit was terminated. The vehicle was last seen traveling northbound into Winnebago County on I-41.

Vehicle information was later obtained through the investigation and is described as a 2024 silver Volkswagen Jetta with Georgia registration.
Authorities are continuing to seek information on the vehicle and driver.
The pursuit lasted roughly 15 miles.
