FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) – The Fond du Lac Police Department is addressing a video circulating on social media that shows a confrontation between two men, one of whom can be seen holding a holstered handgun and making a racist remark.
In a statement, police said the edited video currently being shared is incomplete and paired with misleading commentary from a social media influencer who was not present at the scene.

“The Fond du Lac Police Department does not condone the behavior or language displayed by either individual,” the department said. “The conduct in that video does not reflect the values of our community, nor does it represent who we are or what we stand for as a city.”
Police emphasized that contrary to claims being spread online, both individuals were arrested. The White male in the video was booked into the Fond du Lac County Jail on multiple serious criminal charges, while the Black male was also taken into custody.
The department urged residents not to draw conclusions based on partial clips and online commentary.
“We understand the frustration and emotion that such videos can provoke, especially when issues of race and violence are involved. But we urge our community, and those beyond it, to remember that not everything on social media is true or complete,” the statement read.

Fond du Lac police asked residents to follow the department’s official social media pages for accurate updates, reiterating their commitment to transparency and accountability.
“This incident is about the actions of two individuals; it does not reflect the heart or character of our larger community,” the department said. “We can and must do better in how we treat each other, how we seek the truth, and how we respond when emotions run high.”
