GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – The Green Bay Packers are encouraging Wisconsin middle school students to submit their ideas for community service projects as part of the Character Playbook Community Impact Project. The deadline to apply is Friday, October 24.
A press release from the Packers says now in its sixth year, the program invites students to design and carry out projects that positively impact their school, neighborhood, or local community. Proposals must be submitted online and completed under the supervision of a school or nonprofit organization.
Selected participants will be incited to present their ideas to Packers and Character Playbook representatives in November. Approved projects can receive grant funding up to $500 through the NFL Volunteerism Grant to help with implementation.

Project ideas may include beautifying public spaces, creating welcome kits for new families, building community gardens, or hosting intergenerational events with local senior centers. Each participating school or nonprofit must assign a project supervisor to guide students and serve as the contact for the Packers.
Presentations will take place November 19 through 21, with grand recipients announced by December 1. All approved projects must be completed by the end of the school year, according to details in the release.
