ASHFORD, Wis. (WFRV) – Two 16-year-old boys from Fond du Lac County, one of whom was seriously injured, were hospitalized after a crash involving a farm tractor on Tuesday night.
According to a release from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, multiple 9:11 calls came in around 6:38 p.m. for a pick-up truck that struck a farm tractor near County Highway W and Sunset Drive in Ashford.
Fond du Lac County Deputies and the Campbellsport Fire Department responded to the scene, with investigations indicating a southbound farm tractor was pulling a corn chopper when it was struck by a southbound pick-up truck.
The farm tractor was operated by a 64-year-old Campbellsport man who was left unharmed, while the pickup truck was occupied by two 16-year-old boys from Eden.
The pick-up truck driver was hospitalized in West Bend before being transported to a hospital in Milwaukee for serious injuries. The passenger was hospitalized in Fond du Lac for minor injuries.

Officials believe that poor lighting on the farm tractor and corn chopper was a factor in the crash, which is still under investigation.
The roadway was closed for about four hours.
