Death investigation: One found dead in Wisconsin home, family members missing

UPDATE: Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department officials say that an additional body was found.

WAUKESHA, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in southeast Wisconsin began a death investigation Friday after finding one person dead during a welfare check, with deputies currently searching for other family members.

According to the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department, dispatch got a call around 9:45 a.m. on February 28 requesting a welfare check on a family living in Waukesha.

When deputies responded, they reportedly found one resident dead and noted that the whereabouts of the other family members “remain unknown.”

The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department is actively investigating the situation and working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. Further information will be provided as it becomes available. At this time, the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department does not believe there is a threat to the community.
