Warmer temps bring next rain chance

The latest Northeast Wisconsin weather forecast from Storm Team 5…

A gusty wind came in out of the southeast today, which not only brought in slightly warmer temps this afternoon, but also continues to bring in an elevated fire risk.

A moderate risk is issued for all of Northeast Wisconsin again this evening, so still try to avoid burning if possible!

It was another quiet day here across Northeast Wisconsin, with just some thin clouds passing through as high pressure remained off to our east keeping the dry conditions in place.

Thin clouds continue for tonight and again for the morning tomorrow, which will provide filtered sunshine to start off your Thursday.

Now our next system is building in way off to our west, which will slowly push in more cloud cover over the next couple of days ahead of stronger storms that move in late Friday night.

Ahead of the storm system, a warm front will lift bringing in even warmer temps all through Saturday, before a strong cold front follow behind the system cooling us way off on Sunday.

Since we do have warmer temps in store Friday through Saturday, that does bring the chance for severe weather. Right now the better chance to see stronger storms will be for southern Wisconsin stretching through Northern Louisiana.

For us, expect Friday to be mostly quiet until just before midnight when rain and thunderstorms will start to build in. Rain will likely then follow for Saturday afternoon.
