The first day of spring brings sunshine and melting snow

The latest northeast Wisconsin weather forecast from Storm Team 5…

Winter went out with a bang yesterday as wet, heavy snow came down, leaving a slushy mess to clean up this morning. Now today is the first Spring! The Vernal Equinox occurred at 4:01 AM and the first day of the new season will throw us some very typical March weather with emerging sunshine.

Melting snow as sunshine returns Thursday! Winds not quite as strong as yesterday, but will be gusty out the door this morning around 15 to 30 miles per hour. As we hit our high just shy of 40 degrees, the winds will begin to relax in the afternoon.

Mostly clear skies tonight with more clouds around daybreak tomorrow. The low is 29 degrees. Be alert for icy spots tomorrow morning from the melting snow this afternoon.

Partly sunny with gusty winds on Friday. Temperatures reach about 50 degrees! A cold front sliding will bring a small chance for light rain or snow showers later in the day. We are not anticipated accumulating snow.

Cooler behind the front on Saturday with mostly sunny skies. The high drops to 37 degrees.

42 degrees for Sunday with more active weather as additional rain and snow showers are likely.
