Deputies: Speed a factor in deadly Marinette County crash into tree

STEPHENSON, Wis. (WFRV) – A 53-year-old man has died after he crashed into a tree Friday night in Marinette County.

According to the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office, a one-vehicle crash was reported on West 32nd Road at 49th Road in the Town of Stephenson around 7:50 p.m. on March 21.

Deputies say their investigation pointed to speed being a factor when Edward Van Caster Jr. was driving east on West 32nd Road and failed to stop for a stop sign. The vehicle then went into a ditch and crashed into a tree.
