MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WFRV) – Two Marquette University students died in a crash on Friday evening, University President Dr. Kimo Ah Yun said in a letter.
The letter, addressed to students and the Marquette University community, stated that the crash occurred near the campus, with two additional students also injured and in the hospital.
“We grieve with the students’ families and friends, as well as faculty, staff and fellow students here on campus who were touched by these students during their time in our community,” Dr. Kimo Ah Yun said in the letter.
The following statement was provided by the University:
“Marquette University is aware of the death of two students in a near-campus vehicular accident on the evening of Sept. 5. Two other students were injured in the accident—they are being treated at a local hospital. The names of the affected individuals are being withheld until their immediate families can be notified. We ask for your prayers for the families and our Marquette community at this difficult time.
The Milwaukee Police Department is investigating.”
Marquette says a Mass will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. for the community to gather.
