WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. (WFRV) – Officers in central Wisconsin have launched a death investigation after a man’s body was recovered from the Wisconsin River early Thursday morning.
According to the Wisconsin Dells Police Department, the incident began around 11:45 p.m. on Wednesday, September 17, after first responders were called to 29 Broadway Avenue for reports of a man who had fallen over a railing and into the Wisconsin River below.
After a rescue boat was launched and rescue efforts began, authorities recovered the man’s body around 1:20 a.m. on Thursday. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Based on surveillance footage from the area and witness statements, officers say they do not suspect foul play.
The investigation is ongoing.
