GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Brown County leaders gathered today to mark major progress on the East River Water Trail Project.
County Executive Troy Streckenbach and County Conservationist Nick Peltier highlighted the substantial completion of Phase 1, which focused on improving recreation access and enhancing habitat along the west side of the East River between Hoffman Road and Dickenson Road.

The upgrades are designed to help the community better connect with the river while protecting its natural environment. Two new kayak launches are also planned for Wiese Park and Ledgeview Park.
Looking ahead, Phase 2 of the project is part of the proposed 2026 Brown County Budget, continuing efforts to expand the East River Water Trail and improve public access.
