APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – The Downtown Appleton Christmas Parade is one of the most highly anticipated holiday traditions in the Fox Cities, attracting thousands of spectators to its festive streets each year.
This beloved event, which winds its way through the heart of downtown, showcases a dazzling array of floats, marching bands, and community groups, all coming together to spread Christmas cheer and create a memorable holiday experience for all.

Appleton Police Department Squad, Color Guard, and State Patrol


The Appleton Police Honor Guard—established 23 years ago—performs rifle handling, flag ceremonies, and honors fallen officers statewide, under the leadership of Lt. Ryan Neff and Sgt. Josef Whitney. Leading today’s procession are APD Chief Polly Olson and State Patrol Trooper Josh Sasse, accompanied by Alyson O’Hearn with Safe Driving Matters, whose mission is reducing teen crashes and saving lives.
Appleton City Band


The Appleton City Band has represented the City of Appleton for over 70 years. The Concert Band performs free outdoor concerts every Tuesday night during June, July and August in Appleton’s Pierce Park. The Parade Band represents the city of Appleton in the Downtown Appleton Christmas Parade, the Memorial Day Parade and the Flag Day Parade, under the direction of Mrs. Ann Gehrmann.
Parade Marshals – Pfefferle Family


This year’s Parade Marshal is the Pfefferle family. Since 1971, John and Lynn Pfefferle have built Pfefferle Companies into Fox Valley leaders while giving back to the community. Representing the family in today’s parade are daughter Amy Oelhafen, her husband Eric, and grandchildren Charlie and Sam Pfefferle, and Eddie Oelhafen, continuing their legacy of community leadership.
The Boldt Company

Coming down the parade route is a magical scene straight from the North Pole! Santa’s elves are hard at work in the cheerful workshop, building toys, wrapping gifts, and filling Santa’s bag with joy for children all around the world. One dedicated elf checks Santa’s list—twice, of course! —to make sure every child receives the perfect present. It’s a scene of wonder, warmth, and pure Christmas magic—where dreams come true, and the spirit of the season shines bright!
Golden Gals MKE


The Golden Gals MKE is a group of women ages 50 to 74 who perform at parades and senior living facilities across Wisconsin and neighboring states. Their mission is community service, with an annual commitment to a chosen charity.
Appleton East High School Marching Band

The Appleton East Patriots are under the direction of Margaret LaFleur, led by drum majors Collin Hanson, Owen Kiekhaefer and Natalie Tlachac. They will be performing their traditional Santa Parade, a tradition that has been held since the inception of the Downtown Appleton Christmas Parade.
Making Spirits Bright

This award-winning Rotary light show features over a million dancing lights set to music—and it’s completely free. Bring a food donation to support the Sheboygan County Food Pantries. YMCA of the Fox Cities

Up next is the YMCA of the Fox Cities, home to Inspire Dance Studio and Studio Y. They serve nearly 1,000 dancers across six locations and partner with schools for after-school programs. Tonight, dancers from both studios perform together at the Appleton Christmas Parade!
Fox Cities Festival of Lights


The Fox Cities Festival of Lights is a nonprofit that lights up Darboy Community Park every holiday season. Bring the family and stroll through magical woods filled with creative displays — and don’t forget to take pictures with Santa!
Marinette High School Marching Band

The Marching Marines from Marinette, Wisconsin, under the direction of Mrs. Hilary Oskey and color guard coached by Mrs. Carrie Felch, are thrilled to perform for you today! With 85 members strong, they’ll be performing “Hard Rockin’ Holiday Parade”, arranged by Tim Galyen. The Marching Marines wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season — enjoy the show!

Outagamie County Highway Department


Outagamie County is proud to showcase a 1984 Oshkosh truck, built to handle Wisconsin’s toughest winters. Equipped with a 14-foot V-blade, it clears snow in the winter and keeps highways safe in the summer. This year, the blade was painted by students from St. John Nepomucene Catholic Grade School, adding a touch of holiday cheer and community spirit to the parade!
Seymour Community High School Band


The Seymour High School Band, with over 40 talented musicians led by Mr. Ryan Alban, performs year-round as a marching, concert, jazz, and pep band. They’ve traveled to New York, Orlando, Washington, D.C., Hawaii, and more. This is their fifth Downtown Appleton Christmas Parade, and they’re excited to share the Hard Rocking Holiday Parade, conducted by Drum Major Max Kemp. The Xavier Marching Band, led by Percussion Instructor Mike Malone and Drum Majors Henry Mix and Noelle Nevins, continues to thrive. Xavier musicians perform across many ensembles, including two concert bands, a competition jazz band, pep bands, and the musical pit orchestra. This spring, the band will travel to New York City for their biennial music department trip.

Driving in this year’s Downtown Appleton Christmas Parade are Barry and Jordan Wood in “Mabel,” East Wisconsin Savings Bank’s classic Model A. Last year, Barry proposed during the parade’s live broadcast—and since then, they won Y100’s Shotgun Wedding contest and were married on Valentine’s Day. Here comes the Titan Thunder Marching Band from UW–Oshkosh — 85 talented students representing every college on campus! Tonight, they’re spreading holiday cheer with music from The Nutcracker Suite. Their performance is sponsored by The Paine Art Center and Gardens in Oshkosh — home of Nutcracker in the Castle through January 5th. Happy holidays from the Titan Thunder!

Take a ride down memory lane with Lamers Bus Lines vintage holiday trolley. This vehicle pays tribute to the era when streetcars traveled on this very road, connecting communities across the Fox Valley. For more than 80 years, Lamers Bus Lines has proudly served generations of families across Northeast Wisconsin and beyond continuing a legacy of tradition, reliability, and hometown connection.

Rolling in with holiday creativity, the Appleton Technical Academy students present a steampunk-inspired Santa’s toy workshop! Using their hands-on trade skills, these talented students built this entire float and even crafted toys for children in need in our community. A big thanks to IVI for providing the truck and trailer that helped bring this magical workshop to life.

This one was built for Eaton, Colorado, and features a 2,000-gallon-per-minute pump. Pierce is proud to keep firefighters equipped and ready to respond.
