13-year-old in Wisconsin arrested after firing a gun at deputies “at least three times”

SUPERIOR, Wis. (WFRV) – A 13-year-old boy in Wisconsin is now in custody after he allegedly fired a gun at deputies “at least three times” Tuesday night, authorities say.

According to a release from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 4:35 p.m. to a home on the 5000 block of State Highway 35 for reports of an out-of-control juvenile throwing and breaking things.

Officials made first contact with the 13-year-old on the porch of the home where they say the juvenile told them that they would have to shoot him.

The 13-year-old then retreated into the house and reportedly returned outside with a long gun, which he fired as a deputy took cover around a corner.

One deputy safely took the person who reported the incident away from the scene as additional responding deputies began to position themselves around the house.

Within a one-hour time frame, authorities state that the 13-year-old emerged from the home and fired at deputies “at least three times,” with one deputy reporting that they heard a shot go over their head.

The suspect eventually came out of the home without the gun and entered the garage. He later exited the garage while wearing a black tactical vest.
