87-year-old Wisconsin man dies from injuries after crashing UTV into pickup truck

CLINTONVILLE, Wis. (WFRV) – An 87-year-old Marion man operating a UTV died from his injuries on Friday afternoon after crashing into a pickup truck.

According to the Clintonville Police Department, officers responded to a reported crash at the U.S. Highway 45/West Madison Street and Bennett Street intersection around 12:01 p.m.

An initial investigation revealed that a 2008 Polaris Ranger UTV was heading south on Bennett Street and failed to stop at a stop sign, subsequently striking a 2013 GMC Sierra pickup truck heading west.

The 87-year-old UTV operator was taken by a local ambulance to the Clintonville Airport to wait for a ThedaStar helicopter transport to be treated for serious and life-threatening injuries; however, he died from the injuries before the transport arrived.

The pickup driver, a 46-year-old Alma Center man, was not injured in the crash.
