Active weather heading into the first weekend of spring

The latest northeast Wisconsin weather forecast from Storm Team 5…

The forecast brings warmer temperatures more melting snow this afternoon, but there is a trade-off. Warmer weather will be riding in with gusty southwest winds and more clouds. After that, our first round weekend showers will form.

Precipitation this evening: A cold front dropping in from Canada will be the focus for scattered rain and snow showers after 5pm and before midnight. Temperatures will make most of this RAIN, but a isolated areas may get a minor slushy accumulation of snow worth a few tenths of an inch.

Precipitation on Sunday into Monday: Another storm system will wrap into Wisconsin Sunday morning into Monday. This will bring a mix of snow and rain showers. Cooler temperatures north of Green Bay will cause the snow to be more persistent, where the best chance at 3 or more inches of snow will be.

Partly sunny skies Friday along with wind gusts up to 30 or 35 miles per hour. Upper 40s to very low 50s for highs. There might be a sprinkle in the thicker afternoon clouds.

Scattered rain and snow showers this evening, then some clearing and breezy after midnight. A chilly overnight low of 21 degrees.

Winds lighten Saturday when the sun comes out again. Temperatures in the middle and upper 30s.

Sunday will get nasty again with winds driving in rain and snow showers. The high is 40 degrees, cooler to the north.
