APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in Appleton say they are investigating an incident Monday night that led to one man being taken to the hospital after being shot.
According to a release from the Appleton Police Department, officers responded around 10:00 p.m. to the 1000 block of West Fifth Street for reports of shots fired.

Once on the scene, police say they found a man inside a home who appeared to have been shot as well as several shell casings in the street.
The man was reportedly shot in the foot by a bullet that went through the wall of the home and he was taken by ambulance to the hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.
At this time there is no other information available, there are no suspects in custody, and an investigation into the incident is ongoing. Local Five will update this story as more details are released.
