Crews called to scene of Calumet County structure fire, other buildings threatened

NEW HOLSTEIN, Wis. (WFRV) – Multiple fire departments worked for several hours on Saturday putting out a fire at a New Holstein large pole building, which is now considered a total loss.

A Facebook post states that the St. Anna Fire Department, along with the New Holstein Fire Department were called to the N200 block of Meyer Road in New Holstein around 11 a.m. on February 22.

When crews arrived at the scene, they found a large pole building with heavy smoke and flames showing. Authorities say that multiple other nearby buildings were threatened by the blaze. Due to the intensity of the fire and the size of the structure, additional departments were also called in.

After several hours, the fire was brought under control, with all departments being sent away around 4:30 p.m.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. There is no damage estimate, however, the structure is considered a total loss.
