Educators ride in style in Corvettes to lunch for Teacher Appreciation Day in Green Bay

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Teachers at Christa McAuliffe Elementary School in Green Bay got quite the surprise for Teacher Appreciation Day on Tuesday.

For the last several years, the Corvettes of the Bay Car Club has chosen one elementary school in Green Bay to drive that school’s teachers to lunch on Teacher Appreciation Day.

This year, 20 Corvettes, from old-school to new, picked up teachers for lunch. Despite the rainy conditions, the teachers strutted out with umbrellas in awe of the beautiful sports car.

“This is a special thing, not only for the teachers but for the kids as well, because they were just going wild,” said Amiee Bradison, an Art Teacher at Christa McAuliffe Elementary School. My room faces the parking lot, and all the kids were running up to the window and screaming about the Corvettes.”

The teachers enjoyed some Italian cuisine at Luigi’s Italian Bistro on Manitowoc Road in Green Bay.
