Hartland Engine 43 was sent out at the 2nd box level, and arrived to help, setting up a jet siphon at the main pumping site for suppression efforts. These jet siphons move water from one tank to another via the ‘Venturi’ effect, which is defined as:

  • A reduction in fluid pressure caused by the increased speed of a fluid moving from one section of a pipe to a smaller section.

The effort was crucial in helping to combat the fire. The Hartland Fire Department also added that the community is entering ‘brush fire’ season, and with little to no rain in the upcoming forecast, it’s critical to not perform any recreational burning due to dry grass.
