GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – St. Mark’s Lutheran School held a special assembly to celebrate student Zoey Lainer, who was honored with the Nickolas Maxim Award in the National Handwriting Contest.
The award recognizes students with cognitive, intellectual, physical and developmental disabilities, highlighting the progress they have made in handwriting.

“She has worked and practiced,” said Bridget Biebert, St. Mark’s Lutheran student services teacher. “To work on those motor skills—she is the most determined little girl I’ve ever seen. She works hard and she likes to work hard.”
This marks the second time a student from St. Mark’s has earned national recognition in the contest.
