APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – Officers with the Appleton Police Department say they rescued and safely took an owl that was hit by a vehicle to a wildlife rescue.

According to a post on social media, Hoot-dini, as the department named him, narrowly avoided catastrophe after colliding with a vehicle.
Officers say this incident “wasn’t his final curtain call” as they reported being able to safely remove the owl from the scene and take him to a wildlife rescue.

Hoot-dini is now resting and recovering at the wildlife rescue, where he is said to be “likely planning his next great vanishing act – back into the wild to hoot another day.”
