Jackson Elementary hosts Quilting Blessing & Celebration, sewing life skills through quilting

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Young students at Jackson Elementary School got the chance to make a difference as they sewed quilts to help build crucial life skills through a partnership.

The Calvary Quilters from the Calvary Lutheran Churches helped 33 students from 3rd, 4th and 5th grade sew the quilts, as the students were purposely chosen.

Each student was selected to help them develop some critical lifelong skills, like leadership, belonging, sense of self, academic achievement and/or school engagement.

The students made 35 quilts, all of which were on display for Wednesday morning’s Blessing & Celebration event.
