Lawrence Fire Department gives update on house fire, two people dead

LAWRENCE, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities provided an update on the house fire in Brown County saying two people died.

According to the Lawrence Fire Department, both of the victims of the on March 19 died. Authorities say on March 19 around 5 a.m. crews were sent to a reported fire in the 2200 block of Mid Valley Drive.

Crews who got to the scene found a residence that reportedly had smoke and flames coming from it. Two people were found inside the residence and were removed immediately.

Authorities say one of the victims was pronounced dead at a local hospital while the other victim was sent to a specialty hospital, but later died.

The Brown County Fire Investigation Task Force and the State Fire Marshals Office are investigating the cause and origin of the fire.

No additional information was provided, and the investigation is ongoing.
