Manitowoc woman pronounced dead at the scene after leaving road, crashing into tree

MANITOWOC RAPIDS, Wis. (WFRV) – A 21-year-old woman from the Manitowoc area was pronounced dead at the scene of a single-vehicle crash after she left the road and crashed into a tree.

According to the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office, first responders were called to the 6500 block of Homestead Road around 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 6 in the Town of Manitowoc Rapids for reports of a single-vehicle crash.

According to the deputies’ preliminary investigation, a car being driven eastbound on Homestead Road by a 21-year-old woman left the road, went into a ditch, and crashed into a tree.

When crews arrived the vehicle was on fire and had to be put out by fire personnel. The 21-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash is under investigation and no additional details have been provided.
