Menasha elementary students enjoy 49th annual All-City Track and Field Wellness Day

MENASHA, Wis. (WFRV) – Elementary school students in Menasha enjoyed a day of outdoor fun Tuesday during the 49th annual Menasha All-City Grade School Track and Field Wellness Day at Calder Stadium.

The event welcomed third-, fourth-, and fifth-grade students from both public and private schools across Menasha, offering a chance to enjoy fresh air while participating in a mix of traditional and novelty athletic events.

In addition to classic track events, students took part in a variety of activities including kicking a soccer ball, kicking a football, throwing a football, tossing a frisbee and softball, hula hoop endurance, jumping rope, chipping a golf ball, shooting basketball free throws, and a jump jog.

“We’ve tried to get a variety of events,” said John Breaker, coordinator of the Menasha All-City Track and Field Day. “There are some regular running events, and then we have some novelty things like how long can you hula hoop or how long can you jump rope. So if you’re not into running but still want to participate, we’ve got something for you.”

With next year marking the event’s 50th anniversary, organizers plan to enhance the celebration to highlight the milestone.
