APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – Officials in Outagamie County provided an update on the tragic workplace accident on March 12 in Appleton, including the identity of the employee who died.
According to the Office of the Coroner in Outagamie County, the ProCon employee who died as a result of an ‘industrial accident’ in Appleton was identified as 44-year-old Jean Ndakebuka. Ndakebuka was from Appleton.
The release notes that the incident happened around 1:40 p.m. that day at Progressive Converting (ProCon) on East Glendale Avenue. Ndakebuka was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy was performed and results are pending until the final reports are received and the police investigation is complete.
The company says it is working with agencies to investigate the incident. The statement is available below:
“ProCon can confirm that a tragic accident occurred on March 12th at our Glendale Avenue location resulting in fatal injuries to one of our employees. Our primary concern at this time is to ensure that the needs and well-being of the family of the affected employee are met. Additionally, we are working closely to ensure that we provide the correct care and support for all of our employees in the region.
ProCon is working closely with all local, state, and federal agencies to fully investigate the incident. Since this is an ongoing investigation, we cannot comment further on the details involved.“
