SOMERS, Wis. (WFRV) – One person is dead after they were hit by a vehicle during the early morning hours on Tuesday in southern Wisconsin, authorities say.
According to a release from the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded at around 3:00 a.m. to the 3500 block of State Highway 31 and Green Bay Road in the Village of Somers for reports of a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle.
Officials say the driver of the vehicle called in the incident and said that they had hit a person who was attempting to cross the highway in the northbound lanes of State Highway 31.

The driver was not hurt in the incident and remained on scene while also fully cooperating and assisting in the investigation into the incident.
The pedestrian who was hit was said to have suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
At this time, no other information is available, and the name of the victim is not being released as an investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
