Oshkosh family without a home after house fire on W. 9th Ave

OSHKOSH, Wis. (WFRV) – A family in Oshkosh is without a home after a fire damaged their residence on W. 9th Ave. Thursday morning.

According to the Oshkosh Fire Department, crews responded to the 300 block of W. 9th Ave. shortly before 11:15 a.m. and found smoke coming from the second floor. The fire was contained to that level, which sustained significant smoke, heat, and fire damage.

The first floor also suffered water damage due to firefighting efforts. Given the extent of the damage, the home was deemed uninhabitable, leaving three people without a home. They are receiving assistance from the American Red Cross.

No injuries were reported among residents or firefighters. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
