Over 130 local crisis programs throughout northeast & central Wisconsin, receive donations to improve hygiene

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Over 900 collection sites counted, sorted and delivered hygiene items to 138 different crisis programs throughout northeast and central Wisconsin this week.

On Thursday, collection sites in Green Bay, Manitowoc and Oshkosh invited media to see the ‘BIG Sort & Shop.’ This year marks the 33rd edition of the ‘Help for the Homeless Hygiene Drive.’

Starting at 9 a.m., collectors sorted through the products at the Green Bay Community Church, the Salvation Army’s Light Teen Center in Manitowoc and Valley Christian High School in Oshkosh.

Some of the most common items donated were dental care, shampoo, body wash and other toiletries, which will go to homeless people in need.
