Person of interest in Wisconsin parents’ deaths charged with vehicle theft after getting arrested in Kansas

WAUKESHA, Wis. (WFRV) – Officials in Wisconsin announced that a 17-year-old boy, believed to be a person of interest in a death investigation, was charged with driving a vehicle without owner’s consent and theft.

Nikita Casap was formally charged with operating a motor vehicle without owner’s consent and theft. Casap is a person of interest for an investigation into the deaths of his mother Tatiana Casap and stepfather Donald Mayer.

Casap had been arrested earlier in March in Kansas after ignoring a stop sign, and the vehicle he was driving had been stolen from Wisconsin. Officers in Kansas had been coordinating with Wisconsin authorities on the incident.

Detectives are continuing to pursue more leads and gather evidence, while working through the investigation.
