GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) — Day 3 of NFL Draft stage construction brought with it pallets and metal support beams scattered across Lambeau Field’s parking lot 4, extending into Oneida St. As the project progresses, public safety officials are out in force to ensure the campus is secure and protocols are followed.
“We’re just going to monitor it at this point,” Green Bay Police Department Capt. Ben Allen said. “We know there is public safety on the footprint; Sunday they started. So, we’ll continue to monitor and build as we need to, both for the safety of the construction portion of it and then for the law enforcement and security portion of it.”

Green Bay Police and Ashwaubenon Public Safety are leading security efforts, while the Green Bay Metro Fire Department is ensuring safety protocols are followed during the build. The NFL has also deployed its own private security team.
“There are a lot of private security on the footprint now, and that will continue to grow,” Allen said. “But we have daily contact with the team that’s over there from the NFL, the production company, and our folks in public safety.”
Agencies from across the state will continue to assist with preparation and security in the coming weeks.
“We do have some other agencies coming in that are specialized, from K9 to tactical officers and those types of things,” Allen said.

Efforts to ensure a safe event also involve monitoring from afar, with no threats to the draft reported.
“We have a very, very robust intelligence group that’s working with us on the draft that includes our local partners, federal partners, private organizations, and beyond,” Allen said.
