Residents in Dodge County advised to shelter in place after ‘significant’ storm damage

(WFRV) – There is ‘significant’ storm damage in parts of Dodge County, according to the sheriff’s office.

According to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, around 6 p.m. on May 15, the area had ‘significant storm cells’ that resulted in damage. Juneau and Mayville were specifically mentioned as the areas that were most affected.

Residents in those areas were encouraged to shelter in place while emergency crews work to clean up the damage and restore power.

Officials say many streets and highways are closed due to power lines and trees being down.

Motorists were advised to not drive around barricades or emergency vehicles unless advised to do so.

Residents who are displaced were encouraged to report to either Dodgeland Schools or the Tag Center.

Only minor injuries were reported, according to authorities. More information will be released at a later date.
