School district in Wisconsin accused of covering up ‘Columbine’ style manifesto, Superintendent releases statement

CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – The superintendent of the Chippewa Falls Area Unified School District is speaking out about an incident at the district’s middle school last Fall.

Superintendent Jeff Holmes says the district determined students were not in jeopardy at any time. The district intervened, and the matter was resolved without incident.

While Holmes didn’t provide any specific details about the situation, he says the district determined it did not rise to the level of requiring a public announcement, and that an announcement may have generated new issues concerning staff and student safety.

Holmes said in a statement, quote, “We take these situations very seriously. We approach these matters with the utmost care, following all applicable laws, and with expert guidance to properly review each unique case.”

The statement appears to be in response to a claim from Steven Crowder that the school ‘covered up a Columbine-style manifesto’.
