GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – St. John’s Ministries hosted its Spring Social on Thursday evening, inviting the community for some family-friendly fun with fundraising to help those in need.
The event, held at the Green Bay Community Church from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., featured live music, a bounce house, face painting and other kids’ activities along with some contests and raffles. One of the contests was a chili cook-off as well.
Lydia Davison, the Event and Donor Relations Specialist for St. John’s Ministries, said they wanted to have a community space less formal than the typical gala, so that it could be more geared towards kids and families as a whole.
“It’s spring and [we wanted] to have that fun space in hopes that kids and families could get out of the house,” Davison said. “We also wanted to engage with each other so people could learn more about what we do.”

The money raised from raffles, contests and attendees is set to promote St. John’s Ministries’ efforts to combat homelessness in the Green Bay community. Green Bay Mayor Eric Genrich also attended.
