Stronger storm potential this evening

The latest Northeast Wisconsin weather forecast from Storm Team 5…

Low pressure to our west has pushed in rain and t-storms for a majority of today. Through the late morning and early afternoon, a line of non-severe t-storms pushed in, but have since exited and we quieted down until about 2pm.

Heading into this evening, stronger cells are headed our way.  It’s unlikely that we would get crazy severe wx, but a pop of moisture and slightly warmer temps are expected areas SW of the Valley (like Green Lake, Marquette, Waushara counties) this evening.  These areas also saw brief sunshine earlier this afternoon, so the potential for stronger storms between about now-9pm cannot be ruled out at this time. Main impacts for these areas would be smaller hail and gusty winds up to 30-40mph. However, most of us that don’t experience anything severe most people get gusts up to about 20-30mph.  Everyone should expect downpours, thunder, lightning and some localized flooding.

We should be away from any severe threat by bedtime tonight.
