Two more tornadoes confirmed in Wisconsin from last week’s severe weather outbreak

(WFRV) – The National Weather Service continues to survey the damage from last week’s severe weather outbreak in Wisconsin and has confirmed two additional tornadoes touched down.

A storm survey confirmed an EF-U tornado occurred southwest of Portage. Multiple videos and reports indicated a brief touchdown along I-39. However, no damage was found along any roadways, suggesting the tornado may have touched down in the Baraboo River Waterfowl Production Area or the Pine Island State Wildlife Area, north of Highway 33.

Wisconsin averages 23 tornadoes annually, but the state has already recorded 19 so far this May.
