UPDATE: More than 50,000 without power after Wisconsin snowstorm

MONDAY, MARCH 31, 2025, 1:30 P.M.

(WFRV) – Crews are working to restore power to more than 50,000 customers after a snowstorm swept through Wisconsin on Sunday night.

As of 1:15 p.m. Monday, Wisconsin Public Service reported just under 47,000 outages, while We Energies had more than 9,000 customers without power, primarily in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

UPDATE: Those without power throughout Wisconsin and the UP increases to nearly 70,000

MONDAY, MARCH 31, 2025 – 7:58 a.m.

(WFRV) – Following a snowstorm in some places Sunday night, officials with We Energies and the Wisconsin Public Service (WPS) are reporting that the number of customers throughout Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula who are without power has increased to nearly 70,000.

Initially, there were reported to be about 40,000 to 50,000 customers without power after a round of strong rain and ice storms hit the area Saturday night into Sunday morning.

A round of snow Sunday night on top of the ice already in place seems to have had an effect as the total number of customers without power has now increased to almost 70,000.

As shown on the WPS outage map, 59,183 northeast Wisconsin customers are currently without service, with the majority of the outages occurring in Oneida, Langlade, and Forest Counties.

For We Energies, their outage map is currently showing 11,164 customers without service throughout northeast Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, with the majority of outages occurring in Dickinson (MI), Florence, and Menominee (MI) Counties.

UPDATE: Thousands still without power throughout northeast Wisconsin after storms

SUNDAY, MARCH 30, 2025 – 5:23 p.m.

(WFRV) – Officials with We Energies and the Wisconsin Public Service (WPS) are reporting that there are still over 40,000 customers currently without power following a recent round of storms Saturday night into Sunday morning.

That number has remained above 40,000 since early morning on March 30.

As shown on the WPS outage map, 35,759 northeast Wisconsin customers are currently without service, with the majority of the outages occurring in Forest, Marinette, and Langlade Counties.

For We Energies, their outage map is currently showing 6,544 northeast Wisconsin customers without service, with the majority of outages occurring in Shawano, Florence, and Oconto Counties.

As shown on the WPS outage map, 35,902 northeast Wisconsin customers are currently without service, with the majority of the outages occurring in Forest, Marinette, and Langlade Counties.

For We Energies, their outage map is currently showing 11,202 northeast Wisconsin customers without service, with the majority of outages occurring in Shawano, Florence, and Brown Counties.
