A driver from Peters Concrete Company, who was nearby, helped slow the fire’s spread by spraying water on the flames before fire crews arrived. Firefighters then quickly put out the remaining fire, preventing further spread or damage.

With fire danger levels in some areas of the state classified as “very high,” residents are urged to use caution. Officials remind the public to avoid burning yard debris, grill responsibly, and properly dispose of cigarette butts.
