Upon arrival, officers found the man dead at the bottom of an exterior staircase leading to a basement below street level.

Investigators determined that officers had seen the man in the area the night before. Around 10:30 p.m. on March 10, officers were on a separate call on the north side of Greenfield Avenue when they noticed the man standing in a nearby parking lot, watching them. Officers eventually lost sight of him as they remained on their call.

Additional officers were called to search for the man but were unable to locate him.
