PIERCE, Wis. (WFRV) – A Wisconsin man died Monday morning after becoming trapped under a tractor that rolled over on private property in the Town of Pierce.
According to the Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded shortly before 11:45 a.m. to a report of an individual trapped under a tractor. Upon arrival, they found the operator, 48-year-old Shawn Gau, still trapped. He was pronounced dead at the scene due to his injuries.

Authorities say the incident occurred as Gau was attempting to free a second piece of equipment that had gotten stuck. During the effort, his tractor became unstable and rolled over.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources was notified due to fluid leakage from the tractor near a river.
